Sacrament of Marriage

Our Wedding Coordinators are a group of Saint Mary Parish parishioners who assist in planning the marriage liturgy, coordinate the wedding rehearsal, and on the day of the wedding, prepare the Church and get everyone down-the-aisle.

Please email our coordinators at weddings@stmarybg.org at least 6 months in advance of making arrangements.

Marriage Preparation (FOCCUS)

Our Marriage Education and Preparation Program is based on FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study). All engaged couples preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at Saint Mary Parish are required to complete the FOCCUS survey. After completing the brief survey, the engaged couple meets with a trained facilitator couple to discuss the survey findings. This meeting provides an excellent opportunity for dialogue between the couple regarding a range of topics important to a healthy and loving marital relationship. Engaged couples should expect to meet with their assigned facilitator couple a minimum of 2 times, with each session lasting between 1 and 2 hours. This time commitment would include both the time needed to complete the FOCCUS survey, as well as, the time necessary to discuss the survey findings.

For more information on this rewarding ministry please call Dorthy or Len Schiller at 847-541-1450 or email.
